Cooling Castle Barn is one of our favourite venues, and every wedding we have been at has been so different. Cooling Castle Barn allows you sole use of the whole venue which means you have exclusive use - and no strangers will walk in and interrupt your day. The venue offers a stunning Bridal Suite called The Moat House, as you enter up the spiral staircase you are met with a stunning open plan room where you can get ready with all of your bridal party, and even peak at guests arriving off the balcony. The room is just the right size for doing all of your hair and makeup, prep photographs (as a photographer the room is so open and airy and not cramped at all) and the Cooling Castle Barn staff even deliver snacks to keep you going (the brownies are our favourite!).
We found ourselves back at Cooling Castle Barn to photograph Matt and Rachel's wedding in mid September, the day couldn't have been more perfect, from the sunny September day (not like the torrential rain on the very next day!), the atmosphere of guests milling across the lawn and our favourite part was the cutting of the doughnut tower!
The venue is so well organised and smooth running that its almost impossible to believe they have weddings nearly every day of the year. Their ceremony room, with its grand staircase entrance for the brides, followed by some canapés and drinks out in the gardens, for a spot of sunlight and light mingling before the wedding breakfast doors open. The beauty of the large barn decorated with fairy lights, large round tables and head table at the end of the room, always catches us by surprise when we are lucky enough to photograph a wedding here. We particularly love the overhead view we get to utilise as wedding photographers (along with the evening DJ) when the food has been served, getting to see everyone laughing and sharing stories as the guests enjoy their 3 course meals.
When the meal and speeches are all done the team at Cooling Castle are immediately onto redecorating the barn for the dancefloor to commence. In this time guests get to enjoy some more fresh air as the sun gets a little lower in the sky, the children get to stretch their legs and play their games, family and friends get to have some chats with the newlyweds. We also love to use this time to get a few more bridal portraits done.
It's hard to find a single fault with such a well oiled machine like Cooling Castle Barn. It's always a pleasure to be invited to photogrpah a wedding here, and we can't promote this venue enough for couples planning their weddings!
