When Katie & Craig approach us about photographing their wedding we were so happy! Not only because Katie is OUR Katie's hairdresser extraordinaire, but because we heard all the beautiful details that were going into their wedding at Ravenswood! What a venue to celebrate your most special day *chefs kiss*
From the outdoor ceremony at the mini castle turret, to the sprawling acres of land to explore and utilise for the bride and groom photos, and the gorgeous wedding breakfast / dancefloor room, this venue has it all!
Having the dressing room for Katie with its ample space for her bridal party on one side of the mansion, and the lovely spacious bedroom for the groom and his party to get ready with gorgeous views of the garden on the other side of the building. There was no chance of peaking in on each other to get a quick glimpse but also that meant no added stress of worrying that you may accidentally see each other before the ceremony!
When the ceremony got going on this perfect rainless day you could feel the relief and endless amounts of joy in everyone as our bride made her way down the aisle to her future husband Craig. The moment was almost upstaged by the hilarious flower man doing his dance and scattering of petals, but seeing Katie in her dress, and her relationship with her dad as they approached, the guests fell silent with tears in their eyes awaiting this most precious of moments.
Following the ceremony and group photos we got to explore the grounds and snap away their first photos as a a married couple and what a space it was to capture them! Winding paths into some beautiful wooded areas as well as the expansive lake with views as far as the eye could see. We could have spent hours out there but we made sure to get wrapped up so they could enjoy time with their guests before the wedding breakfast began. Wholesome speeches and gifts for those nearest and dearest were so memorable, and we couldn't believe how quickly the staff turned the room over into the dance party space that it became!
We loved every minute of Katie and Craigs wedding day and were so thankful we got to work at this gorgeous venue too!
